Michael Kuzilny

Michael Kuzilny founded MK Law and has worked in the criminal justice system since 1986. He holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and practises as a Barrister & Solicitor, almost entirely in criminal and traffic matters before the Magistrates’ and County Courts of Victoria.

 

He started out in the police force and worked as a police prosecutor before moving across to defence. He knows how a brief of evidence is put together and where a prosecution case tends to be weak, which is why many of his matters are resolved by negotiation before a contested hearing. In 2020 the Leaders in Law Global Awards named him Criminal Law Expert of the Year in Australia.

 

Michael was the legal correspondent for Channel 7’s Sunrise for several years and has appeared on A Current Affair, Today Tonight and the national news channels. He presents Tough Times Never Last on Channel 31 and Foxtel Aurora, and has written ten books, including Success: You Can Make It!
